Originally, the Mangalam garden was part of the bigger Towkak plantation. It was as recently as 1970 that it was split into three sections, giving rise to the independent Mangalam garden. The black-brown leaves of this tea with its golden tips create a brown-orange infusion that is distinctive for its significantly malty aroma. In taste it is dominated by the sweetness of nougat with a subtle cacao aftertaste.
