The leaves are predominantly dark green in hue, although some lighter ones are sometimes present. The resultant amber liquor boasts an intoxicating floral aroma with the taste of young hazelnut and a subtle note of apricot.
Preparation guidelines: bring the water to the boil and then let it cool down to 85° C. Use 12 g of tea (approx. 6 heaped tsp) for 1 litre of water. Allow to infuse for 2-3 minutes, then strain. Suitable for 1-2 infusions.
The Goomtee plantation was set up in 1899, and is located in the southern part of the valley of Kurseong at altitudes from 1,000 to 2,000 m.
