loose leaf black tea first flush 2022
Originally a dairy farm, Nagri was transformed into a tea estate in 1883, although it is still occasionally referred to as a farm. In addition to producing tea, beautiful orchids, ginger, cardamom and delicious oranges are also grown on the premises. The green leaves present a variety of hues, and brewing them gives rise to a golden-brown infusion. The aroma of the liquor conveys a sense of mandarin and a subtle edge of jasmine, while ripe juicy orange is evident in the taste.
Preparation guidelines: Use 10 g of tea (approx. 6 heaped tsp) for 1 l of water at the temperature of 85°C. Allow to infuse for 3 minutes, then strain. Suitable for 1 infusion.

A notable aspect of this tea is that the leaves are rolled into small pellets, which result in a dark infusion with a mahogany hue. The flavour is rich, sweet, malty and exquisitely smooth with a short finish. It drinks well with milk.

A tea of short black leaves with occasional tips, steeping it creates a rich, brown-orange liquor with the aroma and taste of fine dark chocolate and tangerine.
